Though there are myths about ancestry.com and not being able to find any of the African American family history on the site, I have found a least 80% of my family history on that site. It was my understanding that most of the history no matter the race was generated through their research and the community providing information that was not readily available to them. I personally have gathered information outside of their and have submitted that information to them. Researching family history can be a task but it is all in person that is doing the research. No matter what site you use, it takes patience. There is not a site out there where you can just go and gather information without running into difficulty. Research is what it is!
