I mentioned early on that I had gone to a Family Reunion and blah, blah, annnnd blah. I got a call early on from a newly met family member that is into family history as much as I am. I was absolutely thrilled to met someone that is interest in history. Of course, the event was busy, busy and with him hosting the whole sha-bang, he and I did not get chance to talk much about our family history. He informed me to today that the picture I posted of John Womack was not my Great Great Grandfather...did you guys catch that...not my Great Great Grandfather. Okay I am having a BOMBER moments and my mental is not keeping up with the keys on the computer keyboard. Ummmm..he was a John Womack, but my cousin John Womack, which I too love just as dearly. There is still like this emptiness you get when you and eating and eating and you stomach appears to be a bottomless pit. You never get full. I am okay with it but I am a stickler for passing on correct history.
There was more and more information that I learned in an one hour long conversation. Oh boy! How knowledgeable he was. Have you all ever put a puzzle together and there is one last piece and it happens to be the piece that was lost. This means, that the puzzle is still incomplete, uh? Our family history just like others will have a few pieces of the puzzle missing. It is unfortunate that those of color are tagged with a 'given' name that I ancestors were given. Anywho, I will be uploading more information as I learn it. I really hope that someone, somewhere is inspired to research their family history.
Just remember not matter how you turn a mirror the image in the mirror remains the same. So, no matter what you find in your family tree the history of the person researching will genetically remain the same.
signed, my bucket list remains the same
